"Wild Spirit"

"Wild Spirit" photograph was provided to me by an Amish "Horse Whisperer." When Rebeka, an Amish friend, showed me her picture, falling in love with the subject was immediate. For an artist who does mainly black on white drawings, WOW is the description that came to mind.

"Wild Spirit" original and prints are available to purchase in our Animals Gallery.

What's Happening In My Studio

Spring Burch

“Spring Birch” The decision to go with a Spring theme was the third choice. The art was initially to be a winter scene. The lower section of the picture needs to be completed. You will have to wait for the completion of the art. This art is combining India Ink with chalk pastel.

"Spring Birch" original and prints will be available to purchase in our Landscapes Gallery.

What Price Glory

“What Price Glory” is my contribution to our country’s 250 Anniversary theme. The drawing is 40% completed at this time and the large dark areas is taking several hours to complete. I am drawn to work on this drawing for several hours each day. I usually add the color after all the ink is applied but I couldn’t wait to apply the only color in the drawing. The drawing is India Ink and watercolor.

"What Price Glory" original and prints will be available to purchase in our American Gallery.

"Castoff"

Castoff

“Castoff” is India Ink and pastel art. The light soft approach with the color from the pastel was a conscious choice. It allows the art created by the ink to hold the total picture together like a true drawing. Notice the bow of the boat resting in the negative space created by the border.

"Castoff" original and prints are available to purchase in our Seashore Gallery.

In the Studio

Things have not been happening in my studio. Hand surgery on my right hand has put a damper on my ability to hold the ink pen and control placing the dots to create the image. But not all was lost. I recently felt comfortable doing a pencil sketch of my next drawing, and I began yesterday to begin creating with India Ink.
